Nothing here that's going to break your axles, but there is plenty of fresh mountain air and pine trees.
Not sure how the woodpeckers keep track of whose acorns belong to who, perhaps they have a community sharing system?
Did we forget to mention our little side trip in the Jeep during our Labor Day weekend stay at Mt. Laguna? While there is no hardcore wheeling to be had in Mt. Laguna, there are a few easy trails worth exploring, including the Indian Potrero Truck Trail. Nothing here that's going to break your axles, but there is plenty of fresh mountain air and pine trees. Off of Sunrise Highway is the trailhead, including hiking trails for Pine Mountain and Champagne Pass. The woodpeckers were out in full force, pecking holes into every pine tree we saw. And once the hole is finely crafted into the tree bark, it is stuffed with a freshly found acorn. Not sure how the woodpeckers keep track of whose acorns belong to who, perhaps they have a community sharing system? Your kids won't remember the time you got 39.5 MPG, but they will remember Jeeping and camping. We will look forward to seeing this trail again in the winter time when there is a little snow on the ground.
